Escape | Guide to Marseille

Escape with our mini-guide to Marseille.

STAY: Tuba Club

A beautiful boutique hotel set amongst the rocks in the Calanque right at the end of Marseille. If you can't stay there - go for drinks or dinner, one of the best restaurants in Marseille. (And if you do stay there, don't miss the ice cream place around the corner, Gelateria Des Gouges).

EAT: Cielo Trattoria

The homemade, beautifully presented Italian specials are to die for. Make sure to get a table in the courtyard. And if you have time pop next door to Jogging, the city's best fashion store.

GET INSPIRED: La Cité Radieuse

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, the ‘Cité Radieuse’ (radiant city) designed by Le Corbusier is unmissable, reflecting above all Charles-Edouard Jeanneret’s (Le Corbusier) desire to offer daily comfort and well-being to the residents.

SHOP: Maison Empereur

Hard to describe this store, but imagine every item you've ever needed, in every guise, from kitchen to bedroom and beyond. Perfection.

READ: Trice Magazine

Started by twin sister creatives Ines and Sabrina Hadjhacene - one a painter and one a photographer -both based in Marseille. The magazine embodies all that is creative and up and coming in Marseille and beyond.

DON'T MISS: La Bonne Mère

Don't miss the view of all views! Notre Dame de la Garde (locally nicknamed La Bonne Mère) was originally built in 1214, this Byzantine inspired monument sits on the highest hill near the port, 150 metres high, with spectacular 360 views of the whole city.
