A DAY IN THE LIFE WITH...chef and author, NINA JONES

Nina Parker is a London-based chef, writer and director of her own food company, NINA.  She currently has three cookbooks (NINA St Tropez, NINA Capri and Saucy).  After working in London restaurants she now does private catering and counts Donatella Versace, Russell Brand and Stormzy among her clients. 

She has written content for publications such as Vogue and Conde Nast Traveller and is the food travel columnist for Tatler.  She posts recipes, restaurant reviews on her Instagram @antoninparker.

In January 2022 she launched her product range, Saucy. These are four new oil-based sauces created to go on pasta, eggs, fish, meat, noodles and vegetables. They are vegan, gluten-free and all handmade in the UK.

 

What does a typical day in your life look like?

When I can get my act together, I love to start my day with an early game of tennis. This two piece is ideal for a match. Also I layer it up with the shades and peppermint jacket. 

Next, I have to package jars and sort deliveries for my saucy brand called Saucy. I deliver these to several London delis. 

I always have to shoot a lot of content for Instagram so this is a courgette chickpea lasagna that I made for my series with Collagerie.

Then it's about eating the content in the garden! Got to try and catch the small bits of sunshine.

Finally, I might make some ice cream for my niece, Ines. We made knickerbocker glory’s with vanilla ice cream, strawberry sorbet, raspberry coulis, chocolate sauce, toasted almond flakes and more for her birthday. 

How would you define your style?

Mostly very laid back with trainers, minis and t-shirts. I love classic fitted designs with lots of greys, greens, yellows, whites and blacks. I wear a lot of colours in the summer and then tend to go more navy, black and whites for winter.
